Philadelphia's Fred McGriff Suffers Setback
Tuesday, September 21st, 1993
It was learned today in Philadelphia that first baseman Fred McGriff would miss more time because his recovery from a strained oblique was not going as well as expected. The Phillies, however, were quick to relay that the setback did not seem to be serious and that McGriff would only miss 4 days more.

This year McGriff is hitting .255 with 19 home runs.

Albert Belle Will Miss 2 Weeks
Monday, September 20th, 1993
Albert Belle at first refused to leave today's Toronto-New York game after he suffered a finger sprain while making a defensive play. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty New York right fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Belle out of action for 2 weeks.

Looking at his season stats, Belle has compiled a .295 batting average and a .383 on-base percentage, while hitting 23 home runs and driving in 80 runs.
